In addition to weekday appointments for vaccinations, Marietta Vet Clinic offers Pet Vaccine Clinics every Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm, excluding the 3rd Saturday of each month (and around holidays).
Our Saturday Vaccination Clinic caters to pet owners who's schedule does not work with weekday appointments. Saturday appointments are fairly fast-paced, however many concerns can be discussed during this appointment. Weekday appointments allow for a more thorough exam and consult with the veterinarian. We do offer sick and emergency visits on Saturdays, if you find your pet not feeling well or needing treatment. Give us a call to inquire about our Saturday availability.
How do I know which vaccines my pet needs?
Many factors are taken into account and a program is tailored to fit your pet. “Core” vaccinations are recommended for most pets, and “non-core” vaccinations are available for specific needs. Core vaccines protect pets against more serious and potentially fatal diseases. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has developed guidelines listing the following as core vaccinations: adenovirus, parvovirus, rabies and distemper. Let our vet clinic serve as your animal clinic starting today.
Core vaccinations for dogs include Rabies and the Distemper/Parvovirus/Adenovirus/Parainfluenza combo vaccine. If you board, groom or frequent places where your dog comes into contact with other dogs, like a dog park, your dog will need the Bordetella vaccination (aka the “Kennel Cough” vaccine). For boarding purposes, Bordetella will need to be administered AT LEAST 2 DAYS PRIOR to your boarding date. If you take your dog hiking, hunting, or into the woods where they will be exposed to standing water, you will want a Leptospirosis vaccination.
Indoor cat core vaccinations include Rabies and the Herpes/Calicivirus/Panleukopenia combo vaccine. If you allow your cat to go outside, you will also want to protect them against Feline Leukemia.
