Spay and neuter today at Marietta Vet Clinic to help keep populations of unwanted pets in our area under control.  Veterinarian, Julian Peckich DVM welcomes both cats and dogs for spaying or neutering at his West Cobb Animal Hospital.

Spay

Spays at Marietta Vet Clinic are performed using general anesthesia under strict sterile conditions.  Abdominal hair is clipped away and the area is prepped with a surgical scrub.  An abdominal incision is placed, and the surgery is performed.

A few reasons to spay your pet;

  • eliminate bodily discharge
  • eliminate objectionable behavior
  • Breast cancer later in life
  • Eliminates infections of the uterus

Neuter

Neuters at Marietta Vet Clinic are performed using general anesthesia under strict sterile conditions.  Hair is clipped away and the area prepped with a surgical scrub.  An incision is placed and the surgery is performed.

A few reasons to neuter your pet;

  • Less incidence of testicular cancer
  • Less roaming
  • Less hormonal urges
  • Population control

Complications are possible with any surgery including but not limited to; bleeding, anesthesia complications, post-operative swelling, and infection.

Your pet will be released with a cone, please keep it on.  This will prevent your pet from bothering the surgical site. It is important to take all medications prescribed and follow the veterinarian’s orders.  Marietta Vet Clinic offers a an after hours service for questions or concerns that may arise.  Please do not hesitate to call.
